Until we meet again, my Amy

by Tracy
(Bakersfield, CA)

Trent loves you, too.

Trent loves you, too.

I was owned by a sweet and beautiful white standard poodle for 11 years.

Amy saw me thru a divorce, moving from California to Utah and back again. You name it, Amy was there. For 11 years her presence was a comfort and joy to me.

Three days ago, she started to vomit and showed flu-like symptoms. I took her immediately to the vet. Blood tests came back showing kidney failure. She was in pain, and couldn't even walk. There was nothing I could do, especially at 11 years of age.

I let her go. I had to.

The vet wanted to know if I wanted to be there when they put Amy down. Of course I did. I wanted to be the last person Amy saw before she crossed over.

My heart is empty as I keep looking across the room for her.

Thank you God for giving me such a wonderful gift. I will never, ever forget her. I pray I get to see her again one day.

Good night Amy, my sweet. Mommy loves you eternally.
