Two Young Black Standard Poodles Looking for Home

by Deborah
(Raleigh)

Hello. We have 2 rescued Standard Poodles for whom we are seeking a loving and permanent home - one female and one male, both black and both on the small side. They are sweet and very fun-loving and both get along well with our other 4 dogs - as well as other dogs they have met. Cats we don't know about.

The female came to us from a puppy mill in VA when she was 5 months old. She was so sick and thin when she got to us we weren't sure she would survive. Today, she is a lovely little girl who is happy and healthy. She is now two years old. She is cautious around new people, but not overly timid. She is good with other dogs and children.

The male, who is a year old, came to us from a backyard breeder in NC. We have had him for 6 months. He was born with a neurological disorder that causes him to have a slight head tremor and some lack of coordination. When he walks, he occasionally drags his foot - particularly when he is tired; however, his disability doesn't in any way affect his intellect, temperament, or ability to play. He is healthy in every other way and absolutely loves life and people. He doesn't require any medication or special diet. He is a goofy guy with a sweet and gentle temperament; however, a show dog he is not! He too, is good with other dogs and children. He is very alert and probably our best watchdog.

These two adore each other and must stay together. They are not overly active but do need exercise and a fenced in yard to play. They love to go on walks and to ride in the car. We take them to our beach house many weekends where they love to swim and fetch the ball. They are very happy and secure dogs and they deserve the same in a home.

We are asking for a rehoming fee, vet references, and a home visit. If you are interested, please contact deborah.stjames@gmail.com or call 919-280-2784. Please serious inquiries only. Photos upon request. Thank you.
