New to Poodles
by: Mary Toombs

I bought ,Coco, a one year old female standard poodle last month. ( She was probably acquired for breeding purposes.) I feel like she is a rescue animal. She is not well balanced. She is afraid of my husband most of the time... She is good on a leash and has bonded well with me. She is always at my side. She is well house trained. But I do not know much about her. My first poodle. She was only 35 pounds, vet said she is about ten pounds underweight. She was only fed once a day. She was never on heart worm medicine, until now, living in Texas that is abusive... I need some advice on grooming tips and such. She was matted on arrival. I have combed her nightly. She tolerates it well. I spayed her this week. Next week I will take her to a groomer I guess. She is so different from my previous dogs She has lost of hair!Need some help from poodle owners.. As I do not know anyone with a poodle.
