Standard Poodle in Maryland Looking for a new home.

I have a female standard poodle. Her name is Sophie. She is almost 2. We got her when she was 6 months old. I shouldn’t say we bought her on a whim, but I didn’t really take the time to consider how much work a poodle would require. I quickly fell in love with how sweet she was. I have tried very hard to learn how to groom her on my own by she is what I would consider a “High maintenance” dog.
She is house trained and has a crate that she sleeps. We were going to start to break her of the box, but she certainly seems to know that at 9:00pm it is bed time and she heads into her bed for ‘night-night’ and curls up in her ball! She has a weak bladder when it comes to meeting new people.
She loves to be pet. She has her babies that she likes to play with and play keep away with. I have two daughters who do love her and are very sad at the thought of her needing to find a new home. She IS fixed. She is a very good guard dog and has a thing for hunting.. frogs, squirrels, mice, and salamanders. She has a very unusual bark. We call her the “rooster”, but have no fear of anyone sneaking up on her or you. P.S.-She is not crazy about swimming.
I fault myself for not really learning about the breed. We have an Australian Shepherd who adores Sophie, but we chose the wrong breed for our family. I do enjoy the non-shed aspect of the breed, but again, the maintenance that comes along with that is something I am not used to.
She has been around babies and does well. She likes to sniff them and would be a great helper when it came time to clean off sticky hands.
She does well with resting and enjoys spreading out. She has a thing for laying in the laundry room under the hanging clothes.. if there is anything dirty on the floor even better! Although a little ‘girl’, she does like to rough house with our MUCH bigger dog. She has lots of spirit… I guess she weighs about 40 lbs at last check up.
My daughter has taught her how to sit, shake and do High-five. I think Sophie needs someone who can give her the appropriate time. Sophie is FREE to a home that will take care of her and love her.
Thanks for reading about her.
