Our family has had a 37+ love affair with Standard Poodles, and we lost our 12-1/2 year old female, Juliette, last April. We are blessed to still have her litter mate, Jacques, with us, and he is now 13-1/2 years old. We are semi-retired and have LOTS of time to devote to our poodle(s).
We live in a golf-course lakefront community in Virginia, and there is lots of space and interesting walking tours. Our poodles have enjoyed playing in the water over the years. Has Sophie ever been introduced to swimming? Poodles take to the water naturally, and it's good activity for them.
My husband acquired our first standard, Bach, before our marriage, and we lived in Maryland then. We groom our poodles personally, and know the kind of care and attention they deserve.
We are located near Maryland and frequently visit friends there. I hope you will consider meeting us to talk further about making Sophie a member of our family. Thank you very much.

Needing a dog..... by: Harriet
I have a black standard female 16 years old. She recently had surgery on her lip for a malignant melanoma. I also lost my husband to ALS eight weeks ago and my companion is now Pepper ... I am not looking forward to losing her and would love to know if your dog is still available for adoption. I live in Niagara Falls but would gladly drive down to Maryland to pick her up. H

My husband & I have three young children & a very friendly cat. We live on the campus of a girls' boarding school in MD. We do not have a fence but we live on the edge of campus & have a large front yard & only other house nearby--hence little traffic. Is Sophie still needing a home?

Have had teacups, standards, toys and minis.
We know the ropes and love them dearly.
Had to put our 7 year old standard (Sterling) down 2 years ago because of cancer and I?ve been pining away for another standard!

We have been looking for a dog for about a year. Our last dog died about one and a half years ago. My husband is on travel now. I need to talk to him before I come and see Sophie. I am sure I would fall in love with her at first sight. I will pray for you that you will find peace with your decision to pass Sophie on to someone else to love. I'll email you soon.
