Our new baby girl, Renee

Scotty and Renee napping
We were tossing around the idea of getting a companion for our 5 year old red standard, Scotty. Then we decided he would remain an only child. Hah! One can get in trouble when you are slow at work and start surfing the net to look at cute poodle puppies. I saw a picture of the cutest six-month old brown female at the Indianapolis poodle rescue. I couldn't help but email the link to my husband, and two days later we were going to the rescue to check her out. It was complete love at first sight. We couldn't take her right away because she had been rescued from a "breeder" that turned out to be a glorified puppy mill. Our poor little girl had lived almost her entire life in a crate and had ear infections, eye infections, and three different intestinal parasites. She was small and malnourished. The Indy Poodle rescue took fabulous care of her for a week and got her infections under control. We brought her home four weeks ago and she is the BEST! Our Scotty loves her like the sister he always wanted, and we are in heaven. She has gained seven pounds just since we got her, and she is growing and thriving. She loves to sleep in our bed (no more cold crate!) and snuggle. This picture is of her and Scotty sleeping yesterday. It shows the love they have for each other already. Please adopt a poodle so you can know the heart-warming joy of giving a great life to one of these wonderful dogs. They will give your love back one hundred-fold!
