Jessie @ 6 months
my dad passed away a year and a half ago. he was not an animal lover, lol, to say the least. i did manage to have dogs and cats and birds throughout my childhood and adult life. my last dog, a mixed breed, died almost 30 years ago. after my dad's passing, i started contemplating getting a dog and looked into many options. i always loved the standard so i would revert back to that breed. some friends bought the new "designer" dogs: labradoodle, goldenoodle, malt-a-poo, etc etc. it was interesting to me that all these "designer" dogs were bred with poodles. so then, why not get the dog i'ved wanted for so long. i did my research and i found her by chance. saw her picture online and fell in love. 3 days later we picked her up from the airport. Jessie is her name. she was a 10 week old chocolate standard. she's owned our hearts since march 24, 2009. we love her to death. she sweet, she fun, she's funny, she's good, she's trouble, she's sensitive, and she's puppy crazy. she gets noticed wherever we go and we are always being told her beautiful she is. she has hazel eyes that look human.
since having her in our life, we know we could never have another breed of dog. we live in the city so we don't have a large yard, but she has the run of the house (ours & my mom's)and she get plenty of exercise in the dog parks. if i had a larger space, i know i would have at least one other standard, maybe more.
