One Eyed Lucy Lou

by Helen
(Ohio)

Lucy Lou

Lucy Lou

I adopted Lucy Lou from my Vet's Office, she had been brought in to check an injured eye and the owner decided to have her put down instead of paying for the surgery to save the eye.My Vet told the owner if he signed a release that she would take care of finding her a home and the surgery. The Vet called me and wanted to know if I would give her a forever home if she took care of the cost of the eye removal and spay, well even if the Vet hadn't made that offer Lucy Lou would have had a forever home with myself,my husband and at the time 5 other resuced or adopted Poodle of various sizes.

Lucy Lou has been such a great addition to our home and life she fit in from the minute she got here, she never did her business in the house from day one. She had some other problems like food allery and a bad knee. The food allergy is under control, she eats only D&D With Salmon Dog Food and here treats are Healthy Omega Treats with Salmon and Sweet Potatoes, she can have green beans and peas without a problem and Sweet Potatoes.

The knee was fix in March 2010,the 5 weeks of cage rest was harder on us than her but now that it's over she doesn't hop around on three legs anyone and seems so much happier.

She thinks she is Ten Foot Tall and Bullet Proof and will take on the Standard Girls in a heart beat, good thing the Standards are such good natured dogs.
