I, also, unlike other people, do not have the time, patience or stamina to go through the puppy stage and so, like dogs that are past the puppy stage, if standards ever get past the puppy stage, and although I dont deserve it, every time I lose a standard from old age or illness, a new one comes out of the blue into my life. I have had 8 standards over 45 years, 6 of whom came to me out of the blue to heal a broken heart after I have lost on. I quess someone on the other side is looking after me and also the dogs by finding them what I hope is a loving home. Terry

butterfly=chaos by: Althea
In 97, I adopted Butterfly Blue, my name for her as her name was ridiculous for a dog her size and too close to another older rescue. She was an 80 lb. maniac, as she was 1 yr old and kept locked in their basement. They locked her up but let the two savage sons run loose. Go figure.
She drank water as if she never had any, ran around my aboveground pool so fast she broke the plug off the filter, ate three hand carved dolls,(I only found head and feet), ripped into packs of earrings waiting for a customer and almost hooked them in her mouth. It took two years, but she became a dream. She helped my grandmother get from room to room, told her the phone was ringing, or the doorbell. I lost her to bladder cancer in '04. I still miss her.

Only a dog lover would love him in spite of his intro. They say that first impressions are important! They sure are to a dog lover "all damages aside"
My Dog Heart
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog
they take a piece of my heart with them.
And every new dog that comes into my life
gifts me with a piece of their heart.
If I live long enough,
all the components of my heart will be dog
and I will become as generous and loving as they are"
