Apricot Slowing Down
by: Anonymous

I am so sorry for your loss. I think making "the decision" is the hardest part of all. He had many wonderful years with you. You sound like a wonderful fur mom.

I have just noticed over the last few months that my 7 year old Apricot Standard Pearl seems to be slowing down. My 11 year-old daughter even noticed. She is my first Poodle. Do they begin to show age related changes this young?

THanks

Maria

Through the eyes of another
by: Anonymous

A wonderful standard just dropped into my life Mid May. "JoJo" appeared just 2 weeks prior to our Foxy (not a poodle) having to be put to sleep. Foxy was my husband's dog as I had not allowed myself to bond with any animals since losing my Bouvier 10 years ago in a divorce. "JoJo" appeared to have been on the run for at least a month. I did everything possible to find an owner but to no avail. The dog has some type of trauma history based on the way she handles BUT she is GREAT. I bonded with her from the first day. Why?? She has the eyes of my wonderful Bouvier. The expression is the same. I feel like I've been given that second chance to show the love yet again. I know you've had a tragic loss. I'd suggest honoring your pet by finding another who so desparately needs your love. Don't shut that part away as I did for 10 years.

I understand
by: Deborah

I'm so glad you had 12 years with your Romeo, and a beautiful last day with all the loving family around. It is hard to lose a member of the family... I know.
