Molly, the love of my life

by Kay Doran
(Amarillo, TX)

My baby

My baby

I went to the Amarillo Animal Rescue to donate cat food and saw the most precious dog I'd ever seen. She was everything I always wanted to be...adorable, white, natural curly hair, skinny. She had been brought to the Amarillo Rescue from a sister of a back yard breeder (with -0- ethics) because the breeder packed up & left 7 dogs behind. Two of the seven had broken legs. I had to play a waiting game with a girl who saw this precious baby first & wanted to adopt her. I just thought my world would end if I couldn't have her. After a week of tense negotiations, she was finally mine. After 48 years I had finally found my soul mate! She was so shy and abused, she spent the first two weeks living under my bed. That was AND still is her safe haven.

I rescued her & she rescued me right back...Molly has taught me so many lessons about life and love. She has made me a more patient, understanding, and gentle person than I would have ever been without her.

She is the love of my life. My only wish is for everyone to have someone like her.
