I am so sorry
by: Cameron Armstrong-Lickey

Dear Mary Lou,

It is so hard having any kind of pet as you know that someday they are going to break our hearts and leave us. I had a very special brown Standard female named Rosie whom I lost very tragically fairly young and there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of her and her silly antics, her wonderful loyalty, her brains and the great friendship that she and I had from the time she was a tiny puppy. Every time I look at my now almost 10 year old Apricot Standard Am/Can CH dog I can not help but think of my Rosie, who was my foundation bitch for my breeding program, and her great great great grandson sleeps on my bed every night and graces my life and that of my family and friends with his presence.

I know the day he passes will be a very black day for us. Frosty is 5 generations of my breeding, and the love of my life just as his father, grandfather, great grandfather etc were before him. I actually sold him as a puppy, showed him and finished him for his owners and sent him home after he finished his championship to his owners. I did not see this dog for 5 years until right around the time I lost his dad, I got a call from the woman saying that they just did not want him anymore and would I honor my puppy contract and take him back. I said of course and then called my mom to ask her how old tht litter was as she and dad had his liter sister. He was 7 at the time and was I ever horrified when I went to pick him up.......they had turned their kennel into a puppymill and there were dogs everywhere. Fost was a mess when I got him back, but there is a happy end to the story. He is the king of the house, knows it and is still the sweetie he always was.

To say I treasure every moment with him I have I do, ut these are my kids, always and forever.

I hope you have Rosie for quite a while yet, my Raizen lived to be 26 and looked like he was about 10.

Love,

Cameron
