I, for one, am excited at this beginning. At least it is something to start with. Maybe after a trial period hours will be extended or added. I do agree with the $10.00 being a little steep. $5.00 across the board is much better, Maybe a $1.00 cheaper for Hollywood residents or something, but I'm not debating that at this moment. For now, this is a new thing and everyone, people that attend, want to attend and the city itself have to test the waters so to speak. I am just glad I have something closer. I will ignore the ignorance in the larger breed or certain breed ban.

Yay Hollywood Beach!! by: Korngirl
I totally meant Yay for Hollywood for the Dog Beach (but put Dania by mistake). Again, I think it's great there is a place to take the pooches - I know mine has a blast everytime. Hopefully they keep this going and maybe consider extending the hours - possibly adding morning hours as well. = ) My Pooch and I thank you!! Yay Hollywood!!

Yay Dania Beach by: Korngirl
It would be nice if the hours were not restricted, however I think it is GREAT that we actually have a beach to go to with the pups. (It's a shame there are no positive comments on this page because I think Dania is really doing a great thing).

I haven't been to dog beach yet, and I don't think I want to go now, we should not have to pay for this isn't parking enough!,and to the person who said something about pits and rotts, get with the program not all of them are mean, it's the owner that makes them like that, I call my pit Chicken Dog, she runs when the garbage truck comes. Ive been here all my life and I thought we were finally going to have some part of the beach to take the doggies to swim, guess we'll go to snyder park!

THIS IS A JOKE....YANKEE BEACH by: Anonymous
THE WHOLE CONCEPT IS A JOKE. THEY HAVE MAPPED OFF A 60 FOOT OR LESS AREA AND EXPECT TO PACK 50+ DOGS IN THERE. AND FOR YOU YANKEES THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND THE NATURAL CONCEPT OF A DOG DAY AT THE PARK....I THINK YOU ALL SHOULD GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND LEAVE THE BEACH AND REGULATIONS ALONE. IN A 30 FOOT SPACE IS NOT TAKING THE DOG TO THE BEACH. THE HOURS ARE HORRIBLE AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU FOR IT. THAT WAS THE WORST 5.00 I HAVE EVER SPENT.
DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY. DRIVE TO WEST PALM BEACH OR ST. LUCIE

Bad Concept by: Dog Lover
This concept is a JOKE! If you really wanted to do something for dog lovers and the pooches that like to swim , you would not restrict the hours, who has time to schlep from west side to the beach at 5 pm! Beach time is in the AM! .Take a lesson from the beaches on the west coast like Sanibel , Ft Myers. Also you need to restrict dogs of that have a violent nature , like pit bulls, rotweillers . ECT. Hope the city is ready for a lawsuit if one of these dogs attacks another dog or even a human. At these hours what kind of supervision will be available to make sure people follow the rules. You won't see me or my best freind there.

Hello to Dania! by: Clarice
I agree completely with you and, furthermore, I think the fees are too high. $5 means a lot to me nowadays and I don't take my doggie to the dog beach anymore. She swims in the intercoastal and that's fine with her.

Charges to be at Dog beach by: Anonymous
I have a strong opinion of what is being charged to get in to the dog beach. The charge is 5$ for Hollywood residents and 10$ for non-residents. I live in Dania Beach by the airport off of Griffin Rd. Literally a couple blocks south of my residence is considered Hollywood yet I still have to pay an additional 5$. This just doesn't seem fair. I have 4 dogs and love to rotate thier field trips to the beach but its getting to be too expensive to even go anymore. Its a shame cause' the dogs love it. I truly think that due to such fine lines of city limits that this issue should be addressed. Dania Beach, Pembroke Pines, and Hallandale are the cities that border Hollywood. These 3 cities should be considered local residences to this beach!!!! Any cities that are outside this vicinity should be charged and extra 5$. If anyone even cares... This is the only logical fair thing to do. (The lines of the city limits are just TOO fine!!!!)
