Gus my service dog

by Deborah
(Longmont, CO USA)

I have a six year old standard poodle. We originally got him for a service dog for my husband. He is now in a nursing home and cannot have him. So I am retraining him as my own service dog. Psychological service dogs are a gift of God. He has kept me sane enough that I have not thought about suicide for many years. He has had to endure many years of cramped living conditions at my daughter's home. He is learning now to adjust to a new life. I am living in an elderly low income housing and everybody loves him and looks forward to visiting with him when I take him out for his walks. He has his quirks but we are working on them and he is getting to be close to perfect now. Thank GOD for the standard poodle!
