Elise was (deceased now) a stantard female I rescued, to be a companion to my 7 year old male( totally socialized)

by Linda Kearns
(Spokane, WA.)

I wanted another poodle to keep my male poodle company. She (Rescued female), I named Elise never wanted to play, but she at least helped him eat, he doesn't care about food, but he doesn't want to let someone else have his dinner. She had never been socialized and thought she was a pit bull. She attacked joggers, until Knikkie (my male) showed her by putting a foot on her shoulder, that, that was not the way to behave. I was her fourth family, and between Knikkie and I, we lovingly convinced her that manners were a good thing. I had to have her put down this last fall, at the ripe old age of 18. We had a
very good life together, and she was very happy after she figured out that I was the alpha. She had become the dog that so many loved to see, aware, interested and secure. I would love to have another companion for my beautiful boy. Although he loves his 2 kitties, (they don't have hairballs, he does.) My only problem is that at the moment I don't have $1000.00 for the kind of dog (like Knikkie) I want, but I will have another standard (or a miniature) soon!! Love and curly kisses for the beautiful, smart, kind, aware creatures of God.
