I can see how you loved your Dustin. What a special relationship you had. Even though the time was short with your Little Monster remember the good times and know that you loved her and took the best care of her possible.

Monster by: Linda
I'm still balling about Monster. Two years ago I had a rambunctious, alpha black humongous male. He ran me 3 miles a day (It was great training for the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon here in Corpus Christi. He was smarter than me. If I tried to con him into the backyard with his favorite treat, he caught on - first time. His feet were planted inside the house and there I was - outside looking in at him. Imagine how dumb I felt. Anyway, unforseen stuff happens. I sufferred a job (permanent) injury and remain on disability. I had to sell my beautiful home and downsize. There was never a yard fenced in, or a lot big enough for him. My wrists couldn't hold his "walking - or running" me any more. Good side of story for him is that he ended up with another lady who already had 3 black standard labs - she lives in the country near Victoria, TX. I hear Luther is in heaven having 3 other dogs follow his charge. I miss him so. I think of him every day. Now I am going through poodle rescue to try to find another - I can't afford too much. I know Monster is in heaven and you will see him again. I feel guilty I should have done more for my Luther, but life goes on - I sense he remembers me and isn't mad at me, either.

Beautiful & Precious by: Marcia Mauro
Monster was my kind of Dog- a mischievous 4 year old- reminiscent of my Mackie! It is very sad that such a beautiful and precious family member passed at such a young age, but he will be in your hearts forever. Standard poodles are very special, and while I am still mourning Mackie's passing, I am seriiously thinking of getting another standard. They are just so wonderful to have around!

I feel your pain by: Sally Woten
I'm so sorry you lost "Monster" at such a young age. These dogs are so special..they are sorta like humans in dog form. When I lost my Scarlet,my 11 1/2 yr old female standard, it ripped my heart out. I still have my male standard, Little John but he is 12 1/2 and he is getting very quiet and slowly losing his strenghth in his hips and back legs. We are doing everything we can to keep him as long as possible. Thanks for sharing your story and God bless!Q
