Down and Out in Chicago!!

Hello... I've been seeking to adopt a Standard Poodle for over a year. It is difficult to find a Standard for adoption, much less, get approved. I have a FOUR STAR for my pets. However, I live in upper Michigan. The rescue people do not have the resources to do a homecheck.
Consequently, I'd miss out on some beautiful creatures. People living closer to big cities have a better chance to adopt one.
I called my friend at The Chicago Anti Cruelty Society. I asked her to call me, if she came across a Standard. Coindentally, I was driving through Chicago last Tuesday, and she called me! She said she was waiting at the Shelter with MY DOG!!!
I walked in and there she was holding this stunning, pitch black female. She's 13 mo., micro-chipped, spayed, trained and waiting for a forever home! I could not believe my luck/karma ....
Soooo, fast forward, here she is on my floor sleeping sprawled out in her new home. I named her Lilah (as in De-Lilah). She does not counter surf, doesn't even think about getting on the furniture, sits and shakes hands, gets into my SUV and goes immediately to the very back and lays down. She is not impressed with my little Maltese and cat. She is a dream come true!
