Countryside Shelter in Racine Wisconsin

by Dee
(Spring Grove,Ill.)

We adopted Marcie as our third dog in our family. She was found wondering in Milwaukee in March of 2009. She was transferred to the Countryside Shelter in Racine,Wis. where we found her listed on Petfinder. We went to the shelter to view another dog but fell in love with her. Marcie is a wonderful dog. I was raised with poodles so I was aware of the behaviors and the grooming needs of this breed. They are family friendly, good watch dogs, very very smart and learn what ever you want them to learn. They need to be in a home that is calm. Because they do respond to correction in a normal speaking voice and not yelling. They are sensitive to their environment and want to please their owners. Please if you adopt one look beyond how cute they are as a puppy or adult and realize they need grooming and care to maintain good body weight. Exercise everyday is a must . They are great walking companions.
