Cindy from Bay Area Rescue Poodle (Northern CA Based)

Pretty in Pink - Cindy

Hello All,

I was lucky to find a second Standard Poodle (after one years search) from the Bay Area Rescue Poodle organization based in the Northern CA area (specifically, San Francisco). I kept in touch and visited their site nearly everyday.

Cindy was rescued with her three brothers from a location in Oregon and brought down to Santa Rosa and then they were set up in foster homes until they were ready to be adopted. Cindy was with her brother Blaze who was adopted just days before I got Cindy. She is a lovely gray (with a bit of brown and black).

Why a second Standard Poodle? My girl (Martini II - a white Standard from Caberney Poodles) and I, really felt she was not a single poodle kind of gal and that she needed a playmate/adopted sibling. So, the search was on for a poodle that would be able to mesh with Martini's Alpha Dog personality. After a couple of tries, our prayers were answered with Cindy who is a gem. She has really come out of her shell and interacts with Martini very well. Martini takes care with her, but, they love to playbow so much that I think they forget I am there. It really is rewarding to see they are both happy.

Hope this helps whomever is looking to adopt to check into the rescue groups and shelters. Have patience, as your adoptee takes time to feel that this is their forever home and may need some added training. Cindy had no formal training and now knows (in less than four months) all her basics. We are very lucky.

Best, L from NorCal
