Born on January 1st, Party Girl!

by Kjeanne
(NH, USA )

"Party Girl"

"January Glory" She came to our family like a brown ball of energy that never stopped! She was stylish and charming. Smart and very "poodle reserved!" Sit back on her haunches and view everyone down her nose! Her ears grew so long and beautiful that when she sat by my husband and leaned on his shoulder in his pickup truck, people behind thought she was a woman until at stop lights she would turn her head to look about and people in cars behind would start laughing. She created games all the time, stealing important things like eye glasses, and clothes out of suit cases. She would chase bird shadows outside all day. When the tiny grandbabies came to visit she almost couldn't stand it when she smelled the baby! She would have made such a wonderful Mother!

She was having a lot of problems, unable to walk, at 14. I made the decisions one night around 5pm to let her go the next day. She ate her dinner, we took her out holding her up. By morning she was dead. I know that she knew I decided it was time and she died to spare me the pain of having her euthanized the next day. We always said we should have named her "Party Girl" because life with her was a constant party! We truly adored her!
