Beau Geste

14 years ago, I was at work talking about how i wished that i could another standard poodle.I had one that was a stray when i was a child. It was the smartest and most loving dog that i had ever owned. One of my coworkers said that she knew someone that was a breeder. And she said that she would find out how much they wanted. She came to me a few days later and tolme that they had a litter of 11 puppies, but could not sell the last 3. They were 3 months old and they could not find homes. They wanted 800.00 for them or they would be put to sleep. I went over to talk to them and I was able to buy 1 for $250 and i found homes for the other 2 for $300.00. Beau was the most hyper of the 3, but was just lovable. Before he ws a year old, he had eaten 2 couches and lots of cushions, but he ws the best dog. He was easy to housebreak and train, but did not like to be left alone. We had 4 children and he was very protective of his family. I was not able to put him in a crate, i just had a a problem with it. The issue with crates is me. I just can't do it.
Sorry, I go off track. Anyway, Beau was 97lbs when he was full grown. He was the best family dog ever. At 12 years old, his arthritis was real bad. The vet put him on some kind of med that started with an R. I can't remember what it was called. Well that helped for almost 2 years. We had to have him put to sleep about 8 months ago. I really do miss him. I hope that soon I will be able to afford another. It won't be the same, but I am sure that it will be the best.
