Adoption needed: beautiful black standard poodle

My family has a beautiful, black standard pure-bred poodle who we would like for someone to adopt. Sydney is in great health and has been a great dog for our family (husband and 2 young children) for 7 years. However, Sydney needs a large yard and room to run around. She has become more calm as she has gotten older, but has bouts of unprovoked excitement/ aggression.

Sydney has always been a barker and sometimes scares visitors who are not dog fans, but we have never had any real incidents. However, recently she has bitten a neighbor's child simply because she was excited and the child happened to be in her path. This was not a serious incident and the child just had a superficial scratch but my husband and I always agreed that if Syndey ever went too far we would have to find her another home. She didn't intend to hurt the child but she just can't contain her excitement sometimes. Our family is very busy and I think that if we were able to spend more time with her she might be less excited.

She has never hurt anyone in our family but we just can't imagine keeping her on our street where all our neighbors' children play. Sydney needs a large yard or area to roam around with someone that can give her the attention she needs and deserves.

Please let me know if you are interested or would like to see a photo of Sydney. Email me at: mfavrotcross@yahoo.com.
