Abbigail Addams

by Cay House
(Emory, Texas)

Abbie was born with a condition that is common to
cattle, but not Poodles. She had a durmond growth
on her eye that had a hair growing from it--her
breeder is very nice and honorable and would not
sell a poodle with any problems, but she agreeded to
give her to me to raise. My Vet worried that she
could have other hiden problems but I took her anyway
and was determined to raise her with my other 2
standard poodles and take care of her, what ever might
come. I am so glad I did, they are now all almost 4
years old and Abbie is healthy and happy--I actually
have had fewer small problems with her than Ellie Rosevelt or Jackie Kennedy--My three first ladies.
The only problem I have is that she is so, so spoiled
because I didn't think she would live long and spoiled
her so much, her nick name is Princess--everything had
to be her way all the time. I also found a Minie poodle
seventeen years ago and brought her home to live with
Troy Boy, a Dalmantion and two other minie poodles-
So we named her Cinderella, came home to a handsome
prince and two stepsisters-so what else could I have named her. She was only 4 or 5 months old and had a
broken front leg and flys had eated her ears so badly
that the vet did not think her fur would ever grow, but
she had a long and happy life and was a total joy-we
just lost her last month and are still greeving.
