re: Karen Grogan The Grim Reaper
by: Ken

You are absolutely right! After reading about her being investigated by the local sheriff in AZ for a whole list of allegations we contacted the sheriff's office and gave them all the information we had on her and her "friend" that we bought Cappy from.
We never got a dime back from the lady we bought him from and never got any documents showing his AKC pedigree. We would have taken her to small claims court but found that we would have to go to Blythe to do it, some 200 or so miles away from where we live and since my wife and I are both disabled another trip like that would just be too hard on us both.

As an update... Now time has passed and we have been able to fill our lives with loving companions. Our total is 3 gorgeous, loving creatures whom have no idea that they are dogs. 2 of which are Std. Poodles the 3rd a Labradoodle from a loving home. This very blog reunited us with a then acquaintance who has now become a friend and advisor. This wonderful friend introduced us to our happy, healthy Razzle Dazzle who is almost 10 months old now and one of the sweetest dogs we've had the privilege to know. (Raz is learning ways to help my wife who is wheelchair bound) The reason I am telling you all this is that reaching out to find people who care and reputable breeders is worth your energy. While I wish I could help you with your loss, it is a private battle and from everything we know, everything is being done that can be done to deliver justice to this unscrupulous woman. When you are ready to move on please let us know because we happen to know a couple of very good breeders in our area.
If you would like to contact us our email address is: gottchalures@aol.com

All Our Best and with Sincere Appreciation to all of you that helped us through a very difficult time.

The Grim Reeper Karen Grogan
by: Anonymous

---I- know Karen Grogan she is a horrible person, she has burned so many people and should be in jail. I would love to talk to you about your experience with her. I really want to see this woman behind bars. We need to have people come forward to report her. My number is 619-655-6485. She is a threat to all animals nobody should do any business with this woman !

How aweful!
by: Anonymous

I was so sorry to read your terrible story! Yes, I think the last post was right, just get the dog and go straight to the vet and get them shot up with everything under the sun, again. Just to be triple sure. I lost a puppy once in between their first and second Parvo shot series. AND they caught it at home! apparently some dog walked through our front yard who infected my puppy as I had never taken her away from the house except to the vets. Very sad indeed.

Pups
by: Anonymous

Hi again,
We have two female black girls and a red male. We will be breeding when they are old enough and all tests are ok. I will be happy to give you one for the cost of the shots and first check up. I am just not sure of the time. They are 6 mo. old and the red male is 1 year. Let me know if you want f or m. The breeders I went to are all around 1000 to 2500 plus shipping.

RE: Did we meet...
by: Anonymous

Hi Virginia!
Yes indeed we did meet you and your daughter at Target. Thank you for your kind words. It's so hard to lose a member of your family and I do hope that others that get a puppy will ask their vets about getting one more booster at 3 months when they get their rabies shot. Trust me, it's much, MUCH better to be safe than sorry.

Hope to see you sometime again too. We would love to meet your Red Poodle!!!

Ken and Star

p.s. If you know any reputable breeders in our area that might be willing to make us a special deal, please let us know. (We have lots of love but not much $$$. lol)
Thanks!

Did we meet at Target
by: Virginia

Hi,
I think we met you and your service dog at Target one day. My daughter has a std. poodle male
and a red toy puppy. I am so sorry for your loss. Your story will help other puppy owners I'm sure.
We wish you the best and hope to see you at the dog park.

Go with breeder to the vet on shot day
by: Heather Ryan

Yes, perhaps it is best to take the puppy yourself to the vet or go with the breeder on the day she takes all the puppies for their shots. If the breeder resists, then you know something is wrong.
