A new life for Flower

by Debbie H
(Nuevo, California)

Last October, I lost my beloved Standard Poodle of ten years. Her name was Rosie. She was rescued from a backyard breeder at the age of three and was the best dog I ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with.

She came to work with my husband and I at our veterinary practice and had her own fan club. She also enjoyed frequent outings to schools and 4H classes.

After Rosie passed away I was devastated. I never felt such grief and loneliness. I knew I would never be able to replace her.

After a few months I could no longer stand being without a Standard Poodle. I put the word out to everyone and a few weeks later I got a call about Flower. Flower was six years old and her previous owners had given her up to rescue because of a housefire, they were all left homeless. I drove up to pick up Flower at the rescue facility and immediately fell in love. She looked much like my beloved Rose in size with that same beautiful majestic air about her. I took her home and she immediately began to bond with the family. Just like my Rose, she never messed the house and slept on her bed at the foot of my bed perfectly.

I took her to the clinic and she began to fill Rosie's shoes. Clients that did not know that Rosie had passed thought she was her. I am happy to report that after my Rose, another beautiful Flower has come into my life. She enjoys the same pampering, love and special treatment that my beautiful Rose did. And just like my Rose, she deserves nothing less.

Poodles are so special, for anyone who has ever had the pleasure of being with one and having a true relationship with them they are indeed LUCKY to share their lives.
